In 1972, two wonderful things happened in his life. First, he married Kathy Gray Barker on April 22. Second, Rev. James E. Tharp became his pastor. Under Pastor Tharp's tutelage he accepted his call to the preaching ministry in 1974. Pastor & Mrs. Barker were soon blessed with two daughters, Stephanie and Suzanne, both whom later married licensed ministers. They also raised another young lady, Rachel, who is like their own. In 1978 he became the pastor of Bethel Apostolic Church in York, PA. He pastored in York for twenty-one years and in 2000 left a well-established church. During this time period (1978 - 2000) he held several offices in the UPCI District of Pennsylvania. In June of 2000, after much prayer and at the request of the retiring Pastor James Tharp, he accepted the pastorate of Christian Life Center of the Tri-Cities in his hometown of Kingsport, TN.
I feel there are two main ingredients to a growing revival church: a strong loving church and powerful worship. At Christian Life Center, I think that when you walk through the doors you will agree with me in that you feel both. It is my desire to follow in the footsteps of past strong leadership and go on to great things in the Lord. Let me invite you to come experience CLC!
Rev. D.
Keith Barker
