Sunday School News

Praise the Lord from the Sunday School Department!

This past quarter was an exciting start to 2018. Our children started the Bible reading program, our Sunday School teachers participated in the Ignite Sunday School Teacher Training in Nashville, TN., and we awarded our Sunday School Teacher and Children’s Ministries “Workers of the Year” for 2017.

Sunday, March 4, was the first “PROMOTION SUNDAY!” of 2018. Promotion Sunday is the first Sunday of every quarter and this is the time that the children, that are of the appropriate age, are promoted to the next class. If a child accumulates the most points, they win a prize. The children earn these points by quoting Bible verses, bringing food for the food pantry, bringing their Bible, and bringing a guest. On Sunday, we awarded cash prizes to the 7 children that read the assigned Bible reading for the month of February. 1st and 2nd place prizes were also awarded to the children that sold the most cookies in a fundraiser. The most adorable thing that happened during this promotion day was that each of our classes quoted a Bible verse, then all of the children in the Sunday School program sang and signed two songs for the enjoyment of the parents and the congregation.

On the 24th of March,  starting at 12pm, we will be doing our East Eggstravaganza. On this Easter egg hunt we will have candy, food, a puppet show, a bouncy house, and of course, a lesson about the real reason for Easter. I invite you to please bring your kids and yourselves out to Christian Life Center and be ready for a great time of fun and fellowship.

I also invite you to bring your children to Christian Life Center and get them involved in the greatest Sunday School program in the Kingsport area. Our Sunday School classes break down as the 2 and 3 year old Toddler class, the 4 and 5 year old Kindergarten class, the 6 and 7 year old Beginner class, the 8 and 9 year old  Primary class, the 10 and 11 year old Preteen class, and the 12 and 13 year old Teen class. In addition, we have the Youth class that is for ages 14 to 18, and the Hyphen class for the ages of 19 to 35, so we have a class for every age.

May the Lord bless you,

Brother William Bowman
